Zero Pollution: the European Commission opens a call for new experts

The European Commission has launched a new call to select organisations and experts to join the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform, the European forum dedicated to achieving the goal of zero pollution by 2030. 

The platform is a space for dialogue and collaboration, bringing together stakeholders active in areas such as air quality, water management, soil, waste, chemicals, noise and biodiversity. Its role is to identify social, economic and cultural barriers to pollution reduction, promotethe exchange of good practices, and support effective solutions through innovation, investment and international cooperation. 

Who can apply? 

Applications are open to public and private organisations, not individual experts, with experience in areas such as: 

  • pollution prevention and control; 

  • management of air, water, soil and marine pollution; 

  • reduction of pollution from waste and chemicals; 

  • environmental governance and policy implementation; 

  • research, innovation, digitalisation, finance and infrastructure. 

The Commission will select up to 50 members, who will serve a five-year term. Members will contribute to the development of a three-year work programme, take part in regular meetings in Brussels, and provide technical support for the implementation of EU policies, includingthe European Water Resilience Strategy.
